Olatunde Barber (PhD)

Olatunde Barber is a curator, art historian and artist. He obtained his BA degree from the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria in 1999, MA from the Creative Arts Department, University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria in 2009, and Ph.D. from the School of Museum Studies, University of Leicester, UK. He started his career in art and cultural administrations in the curatorial services unit of the National Gallery of Art, Nigeria. A position he held between 2002 and 2008. In 2010 he took up an appointment with the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, of the Lagos state Polytechnic and in 2012 he joined the services of the University of Lagos as a curator in the Museum section of the University of Lagos Library where he operates as a curator till date. His research interests include inquiries into the collection and preservation of African cultural heritage and the analysis of the relationships of national and global cultural negotiations.
